This job is for a lead contract specialist in the U.S.
Navy's shipyard in Washington, where you'll oversee a team handling all aspects of government contracts, from planning and negotiating deals to managing them after they're signed.
It involves directing daily work, ensuring compliance with rules, and supporting ship repairs and maintenance projects.
A good fit would be someone with strong leadership skills, years of hands-on experience in procurement, and a detail-oriented approach to complex financial agreements.
You will serve as a Lead Contract Specialist in the Contracts Department (Code 400) of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Contract Specialist leading and performing pre-award and post-award functions for a variety of complex contractual actions to include conducting market research, developing solicitations, evaluating proposals, negotiating terms, and administering contracts and modifications to procure supplies or services for an organization.
