Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire.
Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week.
Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Major Duties:
Duties include but not limited to: Assists in the maintenance of all records required in the distribution process of laundry linens to include totaling weights of daily weight sheets, and incoming and outgoing cart weights from the medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Receives linen request orders from CBOC's, fills orders, and prepares the orders for shipment by inspecting, folding, and stocking to specified quantities for delivery.
Inspects ward linen rooms for linen abuse, misuse, cleanliness, stockpiling, and accuracy of linen quotas, and advises supervisor of any deficiencies or abnormalities.
Responsible for delivery to multiple departments within the medical center. Collects soiled linens from bins and receptacles, ensuring separation of clean and soiled linens is maintained.
Assists with semi-annual and annual linen inventory counts. Practices safe work habits and keeps work area orderly and organized to provide a safe work environment.
Responsible for delivering linen outside of scheduled delivery days and times due to shortages and other unforeseen circumstances.

Position Description Title/PD#: Laundry Worker/PD10396-A Physical Effort: This position ranges from light to heavy manual effort and lifting with occasional long periods of walking, standing, bending, and repetitively lifting up to 50 pounds.
The duties necessitate considerable dexterity, coordination, and range of motion to maneuver wheeled linen carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed indoors with adequate heat, light, and ventilation.
Some work may be performed where there may be exposure to contagious diseases and wearing protective clothing when handling soiled linens and garments may be required.
There may be exposure to disagreeable odors such as feces, vomit, blood, etc., as well as predatory pests such as bed bugs and lice; works around moving carts in a noisy, hot, humid environment.
