Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves overseeing the laundry and textile care operations at a VA medical center, including managing linen distribution, uniforms, patient belongings, and a lost and found system, while supervising a team and ensuring everything runs smoothly under contract guidelines.

This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center.
In this position the incumbent is responsible for the operation of the Textile Care Program which includes linen distribution and patient effects, lost and found program, laundry processing contract, uniforms, and time keeping.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire.
Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated.
The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the Job Elements: Instruct Interpret Instructions, Specifications (other than blueprint reading) Lead or Supervise Production Support Service Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week.
Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.

Major Duties:
Major duties include but are not limited to: Coordinates with COR requests for deviation from contract specifications and terms.
Reviews the contractor's performance to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Verify time and attendance records, arrange leave schedule and authorize leave for assigned employees.
Evaluate work performance of subordinates, administer performance ratings, and prepare performance plans.
Hears and resolves complaints and grievances from employees and/or refers them to higher supervisory personnel if not resolved.
Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, and recommends other action in more serious cases. Implement and evaluate EEO activities on a continuing basis.
Conduct training sessions for subordinates by using manufacturer's recommendations, VA program guides and related training materials and best practices.
Responsible for a complete Textile Care Program, which includes linen management, uniform management, patient effects and Lost and Found.
Distributes linens to the VASNHCS which is a 64-bed Medical Center, including a 60-bed Community Living Center. Routinely makes visits to all serviced areas of the facility.
These visits allow for open dialogue of on-going requirements to preclude the development of problems. Initiate disciplinary actions and maintains accurate position descriptions for subordinates.
Ensure assignments are completed correctly, on time, and efficiently. Provide guidance and technical expertise for program elements. Prepare and present budgets.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set, and adjust short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
