Job Description

Summary

This job involves hands-on work supporting special events at the West Point Club, such as setting up and breaking down conference rooms, moving furniture and equipment, and performing cleaning tasks.

It's ideal for someone with basic manual labor experience who can follow instructions independently and handle physical tasks without much supervision.

Full Job Description

This position is located at the West Point Club. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Area of Consideration This job is open to US Citizens and Non-Citizens residing within a 75-mile radius of West Point, NY.

Three (3) months of laboring experience required. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. 2.

Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and, ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.

It is recommended these skills/knowledge be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects.

Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (steam cleaners and vacuums). A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for equipment.

Skill in oral communication in order to understand user needs and to provide assistance. Ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms and follow written guidelines/instruction.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge, skills, abilities, additional screening criteria and other characteristics. Major Duties:

  • Responsible for providing operational support to activities who provides support to customers in various scheduled events and functions.
  • Responsible for conference room configuration in accordance with established banquet/special event orders and breakdown and proper storage of this equipment in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage. Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment.
  • Washes and replaces conference room fixtures using ladders. Uses chemicals and cleaning solutions. Maintains stock of cleaning materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
