Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job is for a laborer who supports a team maintaining and assembling specialized equipment used in agricultural pest control programs, like aircraft tools and insect release machines.
The role involves hands-on assistance with tasks such as operating shop machines, electrical work, welding, and handling materials under the guidance of skilled tradespeople.
It's a good fit for someone with basic manual labor experience, a willingness to learn on the job, and an interest in supporting environmental and agricultural efforts.
This position is located in Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine, Field Operations, Information Analytic Services, Aircraft and Equipment Operations (AEO), Equipment Operations.
The AEO work unit is responsible for providing aircraft, equipment, and services to support research and development, aerial application programs, aerial surveying, and distribution of sterile insects and/or bio-control agents needed to support agricultural pest control programs.
To qualify, you must show you have had training and experience of sufficient scope and quality to provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
