This job is for a laborer at a fitness facility on a military base in Alabama, involving outdoor tasks like mowing lawns, trimming plants, and clearing snow, as well as indoor cleaning like polishing floors and moving furniture.
It's hands-on work that requires physical strength and the ability to follow instructions independently.
A good fit would be someone with basic labor experience who is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable using simple tools and equipment.
This position is located at the Physical Fitness Facilities Sports Branch. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).
Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1.
Three (3) month of laboring experience required. 2.
Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess six (6) months Groundskeeping Experience.
OR Possess three (3) months Field Maintenance Experience. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies. SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects.
Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums).
A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment. RESPONSIBILITY: Routine work is completed independently following proper safety procedures.
Specific instructions are provided with new assignments. Completed work is reviewed and compliance with instructions and established practices.
Responsible to check and perform simple maintenance on equipment Maintenance repairs that require disassembly or realignment are report to the supervisor. Major Duties:
