This job involves hands-on manual labor for the City of Pittsburgh's Mobility and Infrastructure department, such as using tools and equipment for tasks like traffic control, marking pavements, and installing or repairing signs.
It's a good fit for someone with basic experience in these areas who is reliable, physically capable, and willing to live in the city while working outdoors in a union position.
No formal education is needed, just at least six months of relevant hands-on experience.
General Application Requirements:
A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of filing application or prior to appointment, which must be maintained throughout employment.

Qualifying Requirements:
If you meet the qualifying requirements listed above, you will receive a letter of admission (when applicable) for the following examination(s).
You must pass the written and/or performance examination(s) to have your name placed on the official Civil Service eligibility list for this position.
Candidates receiving job offers must pass a medical examination (when applicable) before the date of hire.
Performs simple construction jobs (e.g., barricades, fences, etc).
Cleans buildings, offices, restrooms, and the surrounding grounds.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, equipment and pionjars, etc.
May operate fueling stations (e.g., refuels City vehicles, completes and maintains records of gasoline, oil and other fluids used).
May drive trucks of one ton or less in daily routine.
May be required to assemble equipment or goods received.
May work shifts, weekends and holidays.
Performs routine maintenance of equipment (e.g., compressors, pionjars, paint machines, drills, etc).
Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
