About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR- Outdoor Recreation. This position is guaranteed 0 hours but can be scheduled up to 40 hours per week.

Physical Efforts: Heavy physical effort is required with frequent lifting and moving objects that weigh over 50 pounds. Also included use of heavy hand tools and operating equipment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have knowledge and experience in the use and operation, control, and cleaning of heavy and light power equipment and hand tools, such as pick, axe, sledge hammer, heavy power mower, chain saw, posthole digger, etc.

Must be able to work under general supervision responding to initial oral or written instructions and completing assigned task.

Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Major Duties:

Performs a variety of laboring duties which involve grass cutting, edging, trimming of grass and shrubs in designated recreation areas.

Duties involve the use of gasoline powered mowers, both walking and riding, powered edger & trimmers, blowers, and task related power tools.

Polices recreation areas to include emptying garbage cans, cleaning bathhouse/restroom facilities to include toilets, shower stalls, laundry room, floors (sweeping and mopping), sinks, mirrors, concrete areas.

Makes minor repairs on playground equipment (i.e., swings and slides), and reports maintenance issues to be submitted for work orders.

Uses power washers to clean buildings, outdoor areas and equipment. Performs painting projects as needed. Performs some carpentry work. Trims overhanging branches on trees using power and manual saws.

Picks up programming equipment (tables, canoes, trailers, etc.) from Equipment Rental Center or other activities. Assists with setting up for base, squadron, and flight events/programs.
