Job Description

Summary

This job involves traveling around West Virginia to check that contractors, heating/cooling systems, and plumbing work meet state safety and licensing rules.

You'll work from home but visit job sites, enter inspection data into reports, and get hands-on training to learn the ropes.

It's a good fit for someone reliable with a driver's license who enjoys fieldwork and ensuring workplaces are safe and compliant.

  • This posting is for a licensing inspector with the West Virginia Division of Labor.
  • Headquartered at your home, you will have an area of assignment to travel the state to inspect compliance with West Virginia Code Chapter 30 Article 42 / West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act, West Virginia Code Chapter 21 Article 16 / Regulation of Heating, Ventilation, & Cooling Work, and West Virginia Code Chapter 21 Article 14 / Supervision of Plumbing Work.
  • Equipment will be provided.
  • Hands-on training provided.
  • Candidates shall have a valid West Virginia Driver's License.
  • Accurate data entry into agency databases and reports are required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
