This job is for a manager who leads a team of IT professionals building and maintaining computer systems for Michigan's child support programs, handling everything from gathering needs to creating data reports.
It involves overseeing full-time staff and contractors in a fast-changing environment with sensitive information.
A good fit would be someone with strong IT leadership experience, a background in data handling, and the ability to manage complex projects in government services.
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.
This position functions as a first line manager in a complex work area. It supervises the activities of Information Technology staff, both full-time employees and contracts, that are involved in the development of highly complex and sensitive computer applications in a volatile environment. The Child Support team is responsible for all aspects of requirements definition, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development, and Business Intelligence (BI) development in the context of MDHHS program data.DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.
ITM 14 - Position DescriptionPosition Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate.
The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
IT Signing BonusThis position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,500. Up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
