Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing therapy and psychological assessments for children and adolescents in a state psychiatric hospital, including individual, group, and family sessions, as well as creating treatment plans and working with a team of professionals.

Psychologist 9-P11
As a psychologist in the Psychology Department, the following duties are performed: psychotherapy (e.g., individual, group, and family) for children, adolescents, and their families; comprehensive psychological evaluations on children and adolescents and development of treatment/interventions; behavior consultation to staff; development of behavioral treatment plans; and active functioning within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Psychologist 12
As a senior psychologist in the Child and Adolescent Department of Psychology at Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital, the following duties are performed: psychotherapy (e.g., individual, group, and family) for the most acute inpatient children, adolescents, and their families; comprehensive psychological evaluations on children and adolescents and development of treatment/interventions; behavior consultation to staff; development of behavioral treatment plans; and active functioning within a multidisciplinary team setting. Senior psychologists play a significant role in the accredited, predoctoral training program.

The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

    Education

    Possession of a master's degree in psychology.

    Experience
    Psychologist 9

    No specific type or amount is required.

    Psychologist 10

    One year of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist 9.

    Psychologist P11

    Two years of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist, including one year equivalent to a Psychologist 10.

    Psychologist 12

    Three years of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist, including one year equivalent to a Psychologist P11.


    Additional Information

    Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications
    Possession of a temporary master's limited license, master's limited license, doctoral limited license, or full license to practice psychology in Michigan.
