This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), Position Description Number D2489P01 and is part of the NJ JFHQ G6, National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of the following: Data processing functions and general management principles that enable understanding of stages required to automate a work process.
Worked as a computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or positions that require use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in the following: Analyzing interrelationship of pertinent components of the system.
Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment.
Scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training in the following: Adapting guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
Preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
Approach techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.
Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Major Duties:
As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), GS-2210-11, you will: Provide system support on personal computer, mini-computers or main frames Interact with peers and vendors to resolve hardware and software problems Troubleshoot problems and implements changes on multiple computer platforms Provide technical assistance and advice to personnel Analyze, evaluate, and recommend hardware/software changes to various computer systems.
Develop guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), bulletins and flyers
