The primary purpose of this position is to be a Subject Matter Expert assigned to the 96 CS Network Operations Branch.
Responsible for performing professional cyber networking Infrastructure planning, maintenance and installation support of 96th Test Wing and Team Eglin units.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 positions located here BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriateGS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service.
Specialized experiences is IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving.
Specialized experience is described as: assisted with or lead and managed information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance; conducted research and analysis of external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs; assisted with the assessment of customers' needs and requirements and provided information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs; independently or assisted with the determination of objectives, making sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, setting priorities, causing change, and accomplishing organizational goals.
Ideal Candidate (statement is placed within the announcement): - 5+ years of professional DoD systems administration experience desired - 5+ years of Windows Server administration desired - 5+ years of virtualization, large-scale storage, and backup platforms/applications experience desired KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance. 2.
Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system. 3.
Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.
4.
Knowledge of operating systems, associated device, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to opti1mize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.
5.
Ability to apply methods and practices for trouble shooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
6. Capability to communicate orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
