The primary purpose of this position is to: Provide systems administration, expert advice, guidance, and coordination with contract personnel regarding upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of the following three physical resources.

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), Visual, Imagery Systems and associated network equipment.

**Salary ranges include local market supplements.** This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for the GG-2210, Information Technology (IT) Management Series (Alternative A).

Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. 1.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of Vindicator Intrusion detection, Vindicator Access Control, Vindicator Command and Control systems, IP based camera systems with Network Video Recorder/Digital Video Recorder support.

Knowledge of network infrastructure components and concepts including switches, routers, media, IP based cameras, media converters, fiber optic cable installation and maintenance is required.

Knowledge of information technology and systems administration principles necessary to support stand-alone security alarm, access control, intrusion detection, system command and control, and closed-circuit television systems.

Extensive knowledge and current Vindicator certification are desired.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Extensive knowledge of a variety of intrusion detection systems, closed circuit television, and automated access controls.

Familiarity of Vindicator intrusion detection equipment & access control systems and how to program them.

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.

Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.

Ability to assess new designs and determines the estimated costs for contract installation.

Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.

Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.

Conditions of Employment Continued: 1.

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.

Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 3.

Requires flexibility to work over than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays along with 24-hour on-call for contract coordination of emergency response to repair VIDS/ACS equipment and/or respond to alarm activations.

4. Positions which perform information security as an inherent primary purpose of their position: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. 5.

This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.

Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.

A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Plans and schedules contract-executed maintenance activities. Analyzes processes and problems relative to the design of systems and develops and recommends corrective action.

Enhances automated systems to improve system response time for users. Develops proposals and keeps abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service.

Develops and documents systems administration standard operating procedures and provides guidance to management.
