The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant (ADPAC) for VA Community Care Service, El Paso Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (ELPVAHCS), Community Care Service (CCS) and reports directly to the Administrative Service Manager, CCS.
Manages, administers, and ensures security, maintenance, and operations of database systems.
Coordinates and performs information analysis and dissemination, including access to and distribution of standard and ad hoc reports from the data systems.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledgeable of Menu Management to build and design menus/templates to meet staff needs as required, giving computer access and assigning appropriate menus and security keys for each user class as required.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems that would concern clinicians and technicians in support of consult management.
Knowledge and ability to gather, analyze, and assemble a variety of complex data.
Knowledge and experience in the use of software applications such as Excel using macros, graphics, word processing, etc.
in order to prepare and present written or oral quantitative/qualitative reports for leadership.

Major Duties:
Provides routine technical assistance to CCS staff in various software packages, (e.g., VistA, CPRS, TriWest) in the developmental level.
Incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing all technical software upgrades/enhancements within the service.
Troubleshoots software and hardware issues - computer, fax, printer, consults, FBCS, Vista, CPRS, SharePoint, telephone, networking, miscellaneous software programs. Assigns VistA keys.
Collaborates with Clinical Application Coordinators for new consult and note requests. Updates users for consult and clinic access.
Responsible for PIV requests as a manager and PIN resitter and to assist with troubleshooting issues staff have with PIV. Submits new user requests per EPAS and coordinates with HR, OIT & ISO.
Constructs new user access profiles: Keys, menus, S & W Drive, Fax Folder and FBCS.
Liaises with other facility ADPACS, such as Finance, Nursing and MAS to obtain user access to specific menus (i.e., scheduling, FBCS, etc.).
The Community Care Service (CCS) Program Support Assistant/ADPAC (Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator) supports all CCS software and data management systems.
Serves as the primary liaison between CCS and Office of Information Technology, providing direct support of CCS operations.
Responsibilities include analyzing, coordinating, administrating, and monitoring CCS operating programs as they relate to automated data processing.
Clerical and Administrative Duties Responsible for generating the following routine reports (e.g.
Morning Report Dashboard, Consult Disposition, Consult Report daily, ACD report daily and Active consults) Develops reports based upon input from service leadership.
Conducts preliminary analyses for review with supervisor to ensure understanding of report intent, audience, and need.
Identifies and familiarizes self with sources of data to be utilized in data validation and report preparation. Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information from a variety of sources.
Training Serves as TMS administrator pulling reports, assigning and creating classes and resetting passwords. Completes quarterly reviews of user keys, menus and Active Directory group membership.
Assists personnel with telephone requests. Monitors monthly compliance with CCS's annual training plan.
Triages MyHealthE Vet secure messaging and actions messages when possible or routes to staff for follow up. Enters media requests (posters, photography, bulletins and brochures).
Identifies and determines training priorities as related to CCS operations and administers and conducts training programs.
Surveys training needs, analyzes information obtained, and develops plan for meeting identified needs. Ensures CCS staff is aware of available computer training.
Responsible for monitoring the implementation of new and updated hardware and software and ensures the training of personnel.
