The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisor responsible for providing, planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Crypto & Cyber Systems Division (CCSD), IT Operations Management Chief.

Examples of creditable experience include: Providing authoritative advice to senior management on a wide variety of extremely complex and difficult IT security protocols and measures; Analyzing, evaluating, and making recommendations on major aspects of systems, which interrelationships must be considered, which operating mode, applications software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate; Determining appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up; Advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management and Performing studies and analysis on communications and computer systems for use by intelligence functions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Extensive knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects, and to design, write, test, debug and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the database environment.

Extensive knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and provide advice on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control over classified material. 3.
Extensive knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry. 4.
Extensive knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.

Extensive knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed.
6. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements. 7.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing, in order to produce technical reports, and/or briefings advocate and defend system security resource requirements and maintain good working relationships.

Ability to analyze, plan, organize, direct, and adjust the functions and supervise, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
9. Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

1. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of CCSD, ensuring that Cryptologic & Cyber Systems Division complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. 2.
Analyzes complex operational and mission processes and/or a variety of unusual problems, questions, or conditions relative to develop and employ command, control, and mission information, processes, and systems in order to support related mission activities and performs required testing, troubleshoots, and corrects system and applications software discrepancies.
3. Represents CCSD with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. 4. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. 5.
Serves as technical knowledge management base in the areas of hardware, software, and communications technology.
