THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT), Position Description Number D1650P01 and is part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, Kansas Air National Guard.
Military Grades: E3 through E7 Compatible Military Assignments: ID7XXX * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled you to understand the stages required to automate a work process.
Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade or equivalent.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Such experience includes: Knowledge of a variety of operating systems on desktops and servers.
Some of the operating systems utilized involve a higher security level than that typically used in an office automation environment.
These involve multiple levels of security with multiple authentication levels.
Knowledge of and skill in operating a wide variety of encryption hardware and software along with the ability to integrate these items into the local communications backbone.
Knowledge and skill in managing a variety of classified communications and computer hardware and software in support of an intelligence unit.
Information Assurance Certification" is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. Major Duties:
As an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) GS-2210-11 you will provide information technology system support to the assigned unit.
The incumbent provides systems administration support on workstations and servers using multiple operating systems.
The incumbent is responsible for installing and testing the system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining workstation and server hardware and software.
The incumbent is the primary customer support specialist for the classified systems used throughout the unit. Performs other duties as assigned.
