Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and securing IT systems for the Navy, including setting up servers, monitoring network health, and ensuring data protection against threats.

It focuses on planning backups and recoveries while following federal security laws.

A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in IT security and networking who enjoys working in a structured government environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in federal, private, or public sector
  • Understanding of information security frameworks, data security, network architecture, encryption technologies, and threat detection systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for managing risks in information use, processing, storage, and transmission
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies
  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution of enterprise backup/recovery solutions, server configuration, and IT infrastructure monitoring
  • Ability to carry out requirements of the Government Information Security Reform Act and Federal Information Security Management Act

  • This position is responsible for contributing to the strategic planning and execution of enterprise backup/recovery solutions, server configuration and consolidation, and overall health and status monitoring of the IT infrastructure.
