Full Job Description

This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

You may qualify at the NH-04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 3 of the 5 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Addressing unique cybersecurity requirements for national security Space Platforms.

Evaluating the effectiveness of cybersecurity protections employed on Space Platforms. Experience in Risk Management Framework techniques, policies, and procedures.

Identifying threats and vulnerabilities of computer system(s) and developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).

Implementing continuous improvement of the cyber risk posture of the system portfolio within budget, technical, and schedule constraints.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

As a IT Specialist (Security) at the NH-2210-4 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through comprehensive security program management.

Performs expert-level analysis of information, and weapons systems to determine vulnerabilities and recommended mitigation strategies.

Coordinates with the Intelligence Community to develop and communicate Information Assurance (IA) related threat information to MDA staff elements developing the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Develops standard policy and guidance related to Certification and Accreditation to facilitate compliance with DoW authorization processes.

Enhances support for net-centric goals by ensuring a consistent interpretation of common requirements across the enterprise.

Develops IA language for key acquisition documents, including Requests for Proposal, Statements of Work, and contractor work breakdown structures. - Performs other duties as assigned.
