Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and troubleshooting computer networks, helping users fix IT problems, and ensuring systems stay secure at a defense agency site in California.

You'll act as the main expert for local networks, diagnose issues with hardware and software, and guide others on using IT tools safely.

To qualify for an IT Specialist (Network/Customer Support), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position.

To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Providing user assistance in diagnosing a broad range of operating system, software, and network-related issues; Installing and updating network, software, and hardware components; and Advising management on security protocols to maintain system compliance and prevent unauthorized access.

Major Duties:

  • Serve as primary network administrator for one or more Local Area Networks.
  • Provide technical advice and training for application and equipment implementation.
  • Diagnose system failures to isolate the source of the problem.
  • Serve as the senior IT Specialist for a DCMA hub site.
  • Resolve end-user problems on a variety of IT systems, including telecommunications, computer hardware, and software applications
