Full Job Description

This position is part of the Department of War Information Activity.

The incumbent will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) in the Technology Support Office Component of the Department of War Information Activity (DWIA) responsible for analysis, planning, design, implementation,documentation, assessment, and management of enterprise network solutions to align IT strategy,plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the Component.

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Planning and coordinating a wide range of activities designed to insure and to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities.

Monitoring and evaluating vulnerabilities of automated information systems to prevent, assess and resolve risks associated with firewalls and security policies.

Analysis and evaluation of IT network systems performance, technology rollout planning and insertion using least disruptive practices, cybersecurity principles, concepts and practices, programs, and issues of the Information System Security Management (ISSM) program area.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.

You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below: 1.

As a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) in the Mission Support Component of the Department of War Information Activity (DWIA) responsible for analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of enterprise network solutions to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the Component.

Coordinates and collaborates both directly and through designated project teams and/or IT consultants/contractor personnel, provides administrative, technical, and policy direction affecting a wide range of IT network systems/subsystems, and provides authoritative advice and technical expertise.

Plans, directs, implements and monitors IT programs under the cognizance of the Enterprise Architecture Directorate.

Serves as a technical IT network advisor to the Director/Senior Architect and the primary liaison/ spokesperson with private industry, military services.

Develops recommendations for IT network systems, infrastructure, and service delivery.

Maintains effective liaison with key stakeholders, systems users, IT industry and customer representatives; develops policies and procedures affecting IT management, and provides IT advice and guidance regarding a variety of systemic, technical, and administrative issues.

Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for assigned contracts.
