Full Job Description

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Information Technology (IT) Division of NSWC PHILA DIV.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist and Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) responsible for supporting the implementation and administration of the Cybersecurity Program across the Command.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • You will support program execution to include Risk Management, policy, forensics, cybersecurity workforce (CSWF), incident handling, audit readiness, and drafting, implementation, and management of compartmented information systems.
  • You will acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
  • You will ensure that security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required.
  • You will support and maintain cyber requirements for compartmented information systems and/or collateral classified information systems.
  • You will provide leadership and direction to information technology (IT) personnel by ensuring that cybersecurity awareness, basics, literacy, and training are provided to operations personnel commensurate with their responsibilities.
  • You will ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.
