Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in mainframe systems, using scheduling software, JCL, and database utilities for continuous application maintenance; conducting systems requirement reviews and applying changes and modifications to take necessary corrective action; providing systems support in a mainframe environment; monitoring and resolving mainframe system production errors; and supporting system audit controls to ensure security and compliance.

Major Duties:

  • Provide Lead System Administration for a large-scale mainframe payroll system, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Serves as a technical expert of several specialized IBM mainframe software packages, including Computer Associates (CA) View, Strobe, AbendAid, Access Control Facility (ACF2), and CA-1 Tape Management System (TMS).
  • Maintain, test, and debug the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system software.
  • Provide on call support to nightly batch mainframe processing cycles for a payroll system. Analyzes system problems (abends) and issues system recovery and/or restart Job Control Language (JCL) as warranted by the situation.
  • Maintain system documentation to improve and maintain the system's audit posture for large scale mainframe payroll system.
