Base salary range: $33,878 - $44,042

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-05 level, you must possess: Experience: Information technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies (the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate: 1) Attention to Detail - Follow technical documentation methods and procedures.
2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to troubleshoot IT related issues. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses technical information to nontechnical individuals or groups effectively.
AND 4) Problem Solving - Assisting to identify IT related problems.

OR Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following types of education: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

This IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) serves as an IT Specialist (trainee) in support of the Help Desk Section (HDS).
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) support in the U.S.
Attorney's Office, District of Columbia, located in Washington, District of Columbia, focusing in the areas of customer support.
Typical work assignments will include: Assisting senior IT Specialists in delivering IT customer support services at the point of customer user/specialist interface.
Assisting senior IT specialist in responding to user requests by providing solutions and resolving issues to user requests.
Assisting IT specialists in installation and upgrade of commonly used hardware and software systems.
Assisting IT specialists with troubleshooting, recovering, diagnosing, and resolving hardware/software problems in response to reported incidents by customer.
Assisting IT specialists in providing training to customers on routine hardware, software, and internet applications.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
