Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an IT specialist at the EPA, focusing on developing, evaluating, and supporting software applications to help the agency make better decisions with data and improve operations.

Full Job Description

This position is in Office of Finance and Administration, Office of the Chief Information Officer, System Implementation & Management Division, Management & Operations Branch.

About OFA: https://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/about-office-finance-and-administration This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).

In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as as utilizing business intelligence software to analyze and transform datasets into actionable insights to improve data driven decision making; developing and implementing process improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency; and collaborating with stakeholders to customize IT solutions that improve customer satisfaction.

You will: Serve as an expert advisor in the area of application software, development, evaluation and integration.

Provide post development customer support for applications, serving as a point of contact to address various issues such as augmentation, maintenance, and problem resolution.

Lead multifunctional development projects in software analysis, design, development, and implementation for a new system or major enhancement to an existing system.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
