Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the flow of IT equipment in and out of the department, including receiving deliveries, tracking inventory, and handling records to keep everything organized.

It also includes greeting visitors, processing requests, and assisting with related tasks in a county government IT setting.

A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with experience in inventory management who is comfortable with basic office software and interacting with people from vendors to county staff.

Manages incoming and outgoing IT equipment inventory. Provides IT equipment processing as well as record and file maintenance.

Requirements

  1. Greets, directs, and escorts visitors and vendors to appropriate person or department with IT-related services.
  2. Responds to routine requests for information and refers more complex requests to appropriate staff member.
  3. Receives, sorts, and ensures accurate and timely distribution of incoming IT equipment and courier deliveries.
  4. Maintains department files and records. Documents appropriate information on completed work requests utilizing IT service management incident and request system (e.g. ServiceNow).
  5. Types forms and correspondence utilizing IT service incident and request system (e.g. ServiceNow).
  6. Reviews requests and stages equipment for delivery or removal.
  7. Logs, tracks, and inventories computer equipment received from vendors and other County departments in SAP.
  8. Tags equipment for asset management purposes.
  9. Submits requisitions and requests quotes.
  10. Assists with special projects as required.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) full-time years of inventory or asset management work experience.
  • Current and valid driver license.
  • Excellent organizational skills and good data entry skills.
  • Must be proficient in spreadsheet programs.
  • Knowledge of e-mail and word processing programs.
  • Incumbent must be self-motivated and have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal comfortably with County officials, vendors, executive management, supervisors, employees, and general public on a regular basis.
  • Prefer incumbent has general technology equipment knowledge of workplace devices (e.g. desktop, laptop, printers, scanners, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb ladders, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, use material handling equipment, tolerate hot and cold outside temperatures, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, negotiate rough or uneven surfaces, see color, see far or near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, walk on an incline, use wide hand spread, and work alone and with others.
