Full Job Description

Under general direction, is responsible for acting as a specialized technologist based on area of assignment, such as network, platform, systems, applications, information, endpoints, software, cloud, etc. Conducts deep dive into emerging technology to properly map, document, identify nuances, intricacies, and challenges related to their specific roles and responsibilities. Develops architectural deliverables, as determined by current security policies and the architectural roadmap provided by leadership. Projects include more complexity and system-wide critical importance that have enterprise-wide impact, to include Fire and Police systems. Exercises no supervision.

Requirements

  • Leads technology strategy, migration, integration, and evolution of the technical infrastructure.
  • Reviews and approves the principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise in their domain.
  • Leads the design of technical architecture implementation based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and pain points within the current state.
  • Defines and leads the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction.
  • Analyzes the current technology environment to detect unique critical deficiencies that are without precedent or structure and recommends solutions for improvement.
  • Leads the evaluation and selection of technology and products, as well as the design of standard configurations for given domain.
  • Defines and leads the domain's architecture governance process based on EA's governance structure.
  • Provides technical guidance and consultation to subordinate architects.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Six (6) years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems life cycle management and infrastructure planning and operations, with five (5) years of technical leadership experience
  • Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

    Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.


    Applicant Information

    Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job.

    One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.

    One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
