Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing expert oversight on cybersecurity policies, managing user accounts and access in secure systems, and ensuring the safety and smooth operation of government IT networks and data.

It supports the US Cyber Command's mission by handling things like secure authentication and cloud services for the Department of Defense.

A good fit would be someone with strong IT security experience, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical issues to non-experts while delivering great customer service.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of experience equivalent to GG-12 level in federal service, including managing accounts in Active Directory
  • Experience as a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Registration Authority or Trusted Agent
  • Strong attention to detail in reviewing IT work for accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Proven customer service skills in assessing IT needs and tailoring solutions for users
  • Ability to communicate technical IT information orally to non-technical audiences and management
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex IT security issues using multiple information sources
  • Understanding and management of Microsoft O365 in a DoD cloud environment

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA IT/IT3615.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience with Public Key Infrastructure as a Registration Authority and/or PKI Trusted Agent while having the capability to manage accounts within Active Directory.

  • Provides expert technical guidance and oversight of information security policies for account management to ensure the operational availability and integrity of enterprise applications, systems, networks, and data.
  • Develops standards and procedures in association with Privileged User Access Management (PUAM) inspection efforts.
  • Ensures effective, economical, and advanced technical management of customer computing requirements for assigned systems and applications.
  • Effectively manage and maintain domain accounts within Active Directory, follow security practices associated with network access and authentication while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding and management of Microsoft O365 for government as it relates to DoD cloud enterprise services
