  • Obtain Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) within two years

Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-2210-14, IT - Cloud Solutions Architect located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, C5ISC INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES DIVISION in ALEXANDRIA, Virginia.

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal or private sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Specialized experience must include the following: Leading technical support services projects to enable the implementation and sustainment of secure, reliable, and resilient multi-provider cloud services that enhance mission effectiveness and improve IT efficiencies.

Managing costs, schedules, performance, and technical risks associated with commercial cloud and DevSecOps platform centric projects.

Leading multi-provider (AWS/Azure) cloud solutions architecting services to ensure that cloud solutions are aligned with mission application business needs and are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and reliable.

Leading multi-provider (AWS/Azure) migration engineering services and execution of migration plans for moving mission applications, data, and infrastructure to and enterprise cloud (AWS/Azure).

Leading the design, implementation, and optimization of DevSecOps platform processes to deliver high-quality software solutions at scale.

NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

You will serve as an IT - Cloud Solutions Architect and be responsible for managing information technology projects. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Developing methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts for commercial cloud and DevSecOps platform projects.

Providing advice on costs, design concepts, or design changes for commercial cloud and DevSecOps platform projects.

Providing recommendations for possible improvements and upgrades to commercial cloud and DevSecOps platform processes and services.

Reviewing or conducting audits of commercial cloud and DevSecOps platform information technology (IT) programs and projects.

Reviewing or producing architectural design products and recommendations in support of workloads on-boarding or migrating into the commercial cloud and/or DevSecOps platform.

Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A.

Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position. B.

Information Assurance Management Level III (IAM-III) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.
