The Bureau of Payable Services is looking for an Invoice Processor with a thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles and invoice processing practices. This position gives you the opportunity to review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with rules and regulations as prescribed by the Governor, Executive Board, Office of Budget and Administration, Secretary of General Services, and the Legislature. Requirements

In this highly technical position, you will be required to maintain a working knowledge of accounting principles and the workflow of invoices through the system to render payment most efficiently to Commonwealth vendors or grantees. You will be responsible for reviewing vendors and grantee invoices to ensure each expenditure transaction is processed in accordance with the legal and administrative requirements set forth in the relevant procedure manuals, the Administrative Code, and Management Directives. Based on a detailed checklist of required data elements for invoices, you will be responsible for determining if an invoice should be posted for payment. If an invoice does not contain the required information, you will then route the invoice via workflow for research and resolution. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to resolve payment issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. AWS (alternate work schedule) may be available upon successful completion of the probationary period.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess at least one year of SAP experience.
  • You must possess at least one year of accounts payable experience.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
