About the Position: This position is located at the a commissary store within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) system. Located in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using quantitative techniques to forecast consumption data and project requirements to ensure optimal in stock levels; applying inventory management principles; managing supply and transportation systems; working with automated inventory management systems; and supporting with the resale subsistence life-cycle.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D.

in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Logistics.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

• Reviews a variety of reports and listing detailing system errors, changes in stock nomenclature, prices, not-in-stock, reduced product availability
• Analyzes historical records to determine Distribution Center consumption forecast in order to maintain adequate stocks of merchandise.
• Ensures in-stock position at the Distribution Center is maximized at all times, while simultaneously minimizing excesses.
• Determines current and anticipated storage requirements and advises Distribution Center of same.
• Ensures that all patron requirements are met by ordering accurate quantities of semi perishable and perishable goods in a timely manner.
• Assists managers and employees as necessary, identifies problems, and provides effective solutions.
• Ensures that product is ordered with sufficient lead time for effective marketing; consideration must be given to transportation lead times, holidays and distribution, as well as consumer desires and demographics.
