Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-2010-9, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SFLC IBCT SUPPLY BRANCH -SFLC-IBCT-SUPP in BALTIMORE, Maryland.

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Ability to effectively work with personnel from various units, offices and vendors Ability to analysis and resolve customer inquiries. Knowledge of supply chain management.

Experience performing supply chain management transactions in NESSS.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for performing inventory management work requiring application of systemwide knowledge of supply programs and operations.

The incumbent is responsible for and controls the repair, replenishment, and issueances of assigned Coast Guard items. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Determining and maintaining stock levels of Coast Guard peculiar items to achieve effective service wide supply support and efficient utilization for appropriated funds.

Establishing and procures new items in the supply system when required.

Studying, analyzing, reviewing, managing, and repairing or procured by utilization of various computer-generated reports and other factors.

Developing procurement plans which consider various procurement factors, including total repair/procurement lead times, which maybe 24 months and vary from one procurement to the next.
