Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-2010-9, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OFFICE OF NAVAL ENGINEERING in Baltimore, MD.

To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Experience reviewing project material lists to identify materials that are shared by work items and consolidate them to reduce procurement workload.

Experience reviewing scheduled workload with Contractors, including GSA 4PL, and discuss their inventory preparations for projects.

Experience managing retail inventory located at the SFLC Inventory Control Point (ICP) based on workload requirements.

You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for the Planning, Estimating, Scheduling and Business Management (PES/BM) Division Supply Branch of the Industrial Department at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore MD..

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Manages inventories held by the ICP, expensed inventories held by shops, and supports contractor owned inventories. Uses a credit card to purchase project materials.

Manages inventories that are requirements driven and linked to planned work. Manages government inventories and supports contractor managed inventories (including GSA 4PL).

Performs Market Research to identify sources of supply, pricing, and availability . Submits SAP procurements with all supporting documentation.

Preforms ICP Inspections to resolve frustrated material Conducts Post Award Administration on SAP procurements.

Complete the following within one year of hiring: - Complete all training requirements necessary to obtain and use a government credit card.

- Complete Industrial Project Management System training necessary to manage material lists
