Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers to oversee and improve industrial water treatment systems at a naval shipyard, ensuring everything from design to maintenance runs smoothly.

It focuses on handling specialized equipment for stormwater and process water in dry docks.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY SUPERVISOR ENGINEER (0819 Environmental Engineer, 0830 Mechanical Engineer, 0893 Chemical Engineer and 0896 Industrial Engineer) for the Industrial Treatment Systems Branch in the Waterfront Programs Division of Code 900F Production Engineering and Facilities of PSNS and IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical guidance and support of engineered systems and equipment.

  • You will provide technical cognizance of all industrial treatment system assets including dry dock storm water and industrial process water collection systems.
  • You will provide technical program development, oversight, guidance and coordination of engineering resources to design.
  • You will collect, assembly, analysis and presentation of plant operating records, preventive maintenance and inspection records, drawings, schematics and air emissions and water effluent discharge data.
  • You will demonstrate and foster a climate within the branch for innovative and skillful improvisation due to the specialized equipment involved, and the custom installation requirements of each project.
  • You will develop detailed technical specifications, material analysis, quality assurance, and test requirements, calculations, documents, process instructions, drawing, and memoranda for the department.
  • You will direct the efforts of a technical staff in the accomplishment of engineering work in the systems and/or platforms projects assigned.
  • You will develop and implement the technical products and procedures needed to operate, maintain, repair and modernize the industrial treatment systems in the Shipyard.
