Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-12. Expert-level knowledge in field.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves testing and evaluating major defense systems for the Navy, ensuring they work well in real-world scenarios through careful planning, data analysis, and reporting.
It requires guiding teams on technical processes and improving methods for reliability and support.
A good fit would be an experienced engineer or analyst with a background in military acquisitions who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating on complex projects.
You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the COMOPTEVFOR.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Testing and evaluating major acquisition programs to include experience with design of testing methodologies, execution of operational tests, standardization principles and practices, and evaluation and interpretation of testing results; 2) Working knowledge of the theories, practices, methodologies, and standards of testing in a realistic operational environment of major acquisition program; 3) Participating in data analysis, collection, extraction, and evaluation; 4) Using problem resolution skills, including critical thinking, decision making, and effective communications; 5) Demonstrating effective technical writing skills.
