Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves managing ocean survey projects for the Navy, including planning operations with ships and aircraft, ensuring legal compliance, and leading teams during fieldwork.
It also requires developing environmental data products and providing guidance to improve systems.
A good fit would be someone with experience in ocean science or geophysics who enjoys leading projects and communicating technical details clearly.
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary (Physical Scientist/ Geophysicist / Oceanographer) in the Operations Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
(For GS-13) In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Resume must demonstrate the following specialized experience: Experience in the development of ocean environmental products, effectively communicating all phases of the process-from the application of hydrographic and geophysical techniques for data collection and processing to recommendations for technological improvements.
Experience managing production efforts, including the planning and execution of projects, tracking resource utilization, schedule, and performance, and providing detailed reports and presentations on program status.
Experience providing supervisory field leadership as the Senior Representative (SNR) during survey operations, directing the work of a team for temporary periods.
Experience dealing with personnel from other activities, both public and private, to represent the command in a professional manner.
