Summary

This job involves analyzing computer networks and digital data to support cyber warfare and intelligence operations for the U.S.

Army, including identifying threats and coordinating with teams to plan and execute cyber strategies.

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S.

Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

This position is located at the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, located in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Current Army Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) Employee Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting Computer (Network and Infrastructure) Analysis to enable Cyber Warfare effects in support of national and theater intelligence requirements; performing analysis in support of Cyber Network Operations and Cyber Warfare plans, strategies and operations for the control and application of cyber capabilities; and, facilitating the timely and accurate identification of staff responsibilities in connection with the execution of Cyberspace Operations support actions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations.

This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.

This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cyberspace Operations Data Collection and Analysis Partnering Major Duties:

  • Serves as a Cryptologic Cyberspace Operations Specialist, as a Digital Network Exploitation Analyst (DNEA) for 780th MI BDE, 782d MI BN.
  • Applies practical knowledge and understanding of service, Joint and National Cyberspace Operations missions, components, organization, structure, service doctrine, Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and command channels.
  • Uses information collected from a variety of computer network defense and SIGINT resources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur on digital networks.
  • Develops, maintains, and reviews analytic working aids and databases to support target collection, identification, and location.
  • Coordinates with other Cyber Specialists to give and/or obtain information relating to support in cyberspace, support to collection management initiatives, planning operations and goals, and initiatives and assessments.
  • Assists with integrating Cyberspace Operations capabilities into operations/exercise design and integrating/synchronizing Cyber-related effects.
