The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Deputy Branch Chief providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the AFGSC A2 Unit Support Division.
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
The GG-13 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level.
The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.
Examples of creditable experience include: Extensive knowledge of the full range of intelligence research, processing, and exploitation methods, techniques, and practices using multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments.
Knowledge of advanced dissemination principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed reports on complex information/situations attained from multiple sources.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Working knowledge of Global Force Management (GFM) and Air & Space Expeditionary Force (AEF) concepts as outlined in the appropriate instructions and guidelines.
Knowledge of the Military Personnel Appropriations (MPA) as they apply to accessing Air Reserve Component (ARC) personnel to support active duty mission requirements. 2.
Knowledge of full range of intelligence principles and techniques from an Air Force or MAJCOM level. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a small to medium sized organization. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6.
Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1.
Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Duty 1 - Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AFGSC/A2 Unit Support Branch.
Oversees Global Force Management (GFM) and Air & Space Expeditionary Force (AEF) programs as outlined in the appropriate instructions and guidelines.
Duty 2 - Exercises management in special studies and projects related to Intelligence Oversight, unit-level intelligence for the command, disseminates AFGSC/A2 policies, manages AFGSC Intelligence Staff Assistance Visit (SAV) Program, coordinates AFGSC intelligence unit support issues related to targeting and Geospatial Information and Services, augments AFGSC Inspector General (IG) during inspections as required.
Duty 3 - Represents MAJCOM Unit Support Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with HQ USAF, 10 geographic and functional COCOMs, 2 NAFs, 5 Bomb Wings, 3 Missile Wings, 2 Guard and Reserve units and other staff action officers and national intelligence community levels.
