This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)) under the Director for Defense Intelligence (DDI) for Warfighter Support (WS).
This position comprises a senior intelligence officer within the Indo-Pacific Regional Directorate.
The Indo Pacific Regional Directorate provides regional expertise for the development of strategy, intelligence policy, planning and international partnerships for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GG-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: 1) Develop new methods and proposals on policy related issues in the absence of clear guidelines; 2) Provide authoritative advice and analysis to senior leaders impacting planning, policy and strategic oversight; and 3) Liaison with stakeholders on issues related to strategy, policy, contingency planning, and foreign partner engagements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

A "certification" letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.

Members may be appointed before the effective date of their military retirement/separation if they are on terminal leave.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a senior intelligence specialist on the Indo-Pacific Team, providing support and advice to the USD(I&S), DDI(WS) on issues related to strategy, policy, contingency planning, and foreign partner engagements for the Indo-Pacific region Develops mechanisms to advance and synchronize intelligence relationships between defense intelligence and counterintelligence elements and foreign defense intelligence organizations in the Indo-Pacific region Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Defense Intelligence Enterprise and OSD-Policy counterparts.
Prepares and analyzes reports, responses to queries, justifications, congressional reports, and background papers on areas of expertise and assignment Represents OUSD(I&S) with a variety of OSD/NCR organizations
