Gather, collect, and assess intelligence related to security threats; surveillance of designated groups.
Monitor and identify inmates who are seen associating with gang members.
Interview and verify photographs have been taken of all new arrivals.
Complete paperwork/packets on inmates who are suspected to be involved in gang activity.
Assist Contraband staff in searching cells of suspected gang members.
Monitor inmate phone calls.
Maintain accurate records of all confiscated items such as written material containing code and symbols.
Complete all other tasks assigned by the Statewide STG Coordinator or STG Task Force Supervisor.
Must be a US citizen, age 18 or over, have a high school diploma or GED & have a valid driver's license.
Tattoos: must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
Must pass a physical exam administered by SCDC.
Must successfully complete the correctional officer basic certification course within first six (6) months of placement into the position.
