The Seattle Municipal Court's (SMC) mission is to provide a forum for people to resolve alleged violations of the law in a respectful, independent, and impartial manner.

SMC is a highly innovative and progressive court with a community-based approach to judicial administration.
The Infractions Division is a unit of Court Operations. The Courtroom Support team has two primary functions: courtroom customer service and case preparation.
Case preparation takes place behind the scenes, providing administrative support to the Magistrates by preparing documents for scheduled infraction hearings.(Infractions includes parking, traffic camera, and traffic and non-traffic infractions.)
The Courtroom Support Team is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for one, full-time Infractions Clerk position (Court Cashier).

The Infractions Clerk supports courtroom operations through high-volume customer service, case preparation, and administrative coordination.

Minimum Qualifications
1 year of clerical support experience including data entry, document processing, and customer service. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office. The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desired Qualifications
Court experience, strong organizational skills, ability to work in fast-paced environments, and experience serving multicultural communities.

Salary
This position is part of the 5-Step Compensation program; Full salary range for this position is $37.28 (Step 1) - $43.20 (Step 5). To ensure internal equity, the expected starting salary is Step 1- $37.28
Work Environment
Alternative Work Arrangements and teleworking may be considered for this position. The person in this role must reside within the State of Washington and be available for onsite work.

Additional Information
A job offer is contingent upon successfully passing the court's background check. The background check includes a criminal history background review, fingerprinting, and reference checks.
This is a full-time position, working 40-hours per week.
