Full Job Description

This position will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a Regular Full-Time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have an extensive level of experience supporting Microsoft Windows or current Operating System installation, system configuration, vulnerability mitigation, security, capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of servers and systems.

Experience with System and Server administration, vulnerabilities management and network/system security.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Knowledge of methods, principles, and practices covering troubleshooting and security of complex computer system failures, recovery of systems, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to include hardware and software components.

2. Knowledge and application of methods and practices involved in the integration of system components sufficient to optimize system performance. 3.

Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, & the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, & maintain those systems; to optimize system functionality & performance.

4. Knowledge of policies, practices, and technical management guidelines to provide advisory services, consultation, technical assistance, and training.

Ensures all Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and cyber orders are implemented per U.S.

Cyber Command directives and vulnerabilities mitigation in accordance with all applicable DoDIs, AFIS, NIST, local operating instructions to ensure compliance.

Primary focus of the position is to administer & provide security vulnerability support across the Business Activity Enterprise in a senior capacity.

Serves as an advisor to specialists engaged in similar responsibilities. Ensures the Business Activity Network (BAN) systems are properly configured, monitored, maintained.

As a member of management's IT team, participates in developing strategic plans for enhancement of the system environment, developing functional and technical requirements for acquisitions, conducting cost benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and related activities.

Works with IT specialists to develop and apply customer service enhancements.

Maintains liaison with manufacturers, professional organizations, and counterparts at other installations and services regarding available products and state-of-the-art technologies and advancements.

Serves as IT systems administration consultant, providing an authoritative resource to other IT specialists and management.

Develops strategies to incorporate into the organization's inventory such technologies and advancements found to be compatible with user requirements, taking into consideration any affect these technologies and techniques will have on existing architecture and infrastructure.

In addition, provides a variety of other IT and additional Duties and Responsibilities as assigned.
