This vacancy is for an Information Technology Specialist (Network) position in the Office of Telecommunications located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland.
The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service.
Experience for this position includes: Leading the planning, design, security, testing, analysis, installation, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and documentation of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless Networking, Internet, and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC)/Application Load-balancing; this includes both hardware based and native cloud-based systems; and Configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining reverse proxy, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), TLS/SSL, and recommending new technologies; and Working with customers to gather and analyze customer requirements, securing systems in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) standards; and Troubleshooting complex challenges/problems for resolution.
In addition to the above specialized experience, your resume reflects one year of Information Technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
