Summary

This job involves working as an IT specialist in the U.S. Marine Corps, focusing on analyzing, designing, and managing software applications and systems to support military operations.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Demonstrating exceptional attention to detail in reviewing IT systems and technology related work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.

Applies thorough knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures to support engineering and operational actions with precision.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Coordinating and reviewing enterprise and customer escalated incidents/service requests.

This includes informing senior leadership and end users of notable information concerning service interruptions and service enhancements.

This includes serving as the main point of contact for providing training and technical support to internal and external customers.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Experience communicating the status of IT systems, projects, and daily operations to senior leadership and IT staff, including translating complex technical information into clear/concise data and be able to deliver accessible language for non-technical audiences.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides problem resolution for escalated IT issues with enterprise wide and geographically distributed impact.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex conflicts and failures, develops and implements corrective procedures, and ensures stability across varied environments.

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.

Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Being responsible for engineering analysis, planning, development, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of enterprise management systems and tools.

Evaluating alternative approaches to problem resolutions and adapting solutions to solve a variety of problems.

  • You will apply analytical processes to the planning, design, implementation, and operations of new and improved systems to provide reliable voice and video communications systems to Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) Users
  • You will review existing systems and infrastructure and provide recommendations and guidance to best meet the Service’s operational needs.
  • You will plan and coordinate software and hardware upgrades to increase availability, capability while streamlining to provide efficient cost-effective services to the Marine Corps supported forces.
  • You will identify gaps between current and intended system designs and plans for transitioning to target designs to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies.
  • You will provide input, and feedback on externally generated Architecture and Requirements documents.
  • You will provide briefs and status updates and collaborate with internal and external organization management and leadership.
  • You will exercise managerial, technical, and administrative responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, executing and evaluating all aspects of enterprise services systems.
  • You will be responsible for the planning, configuration, security and operation and integration of enterprise collaborative communication services.
