The Information Technology Section of the WV Tax Division is seeking an I.T. manager to join its team.
The successful candidate will manage a team of developers responsible for the GenTax application production system and interfaces; website production; and the Tax I.T. help desk.
Responsible for managing staff, resolving personnel issues, scheduling workloads, setting priorities, ensuring timelines are met, coordinating leave to ensure system coverage, and managing the need for overtime.
Ensure information technology change control and security procedures are being followed and documented for the areas of responsibility.
Analyze unit operations and determine feasibility and/or cost of conversion to new processes, and design and train staff on new processes.
Work with interfacing agencies and contract groups in a respectful manner to accomplish common goals of existing interfaces, troubleshoot production problems, and identify new processes to enhance current systems.
A mission-critical function of this position is to ensure that Tax makes the daily deposit in a timely and accurate manner each day, including providing outputs to the Revenue Division and State Treasurer’s Office.
Must maintain a respectful working relationship with contract groups and users while ensuring the Tax Division’s interests and needs are met.
This position will be responsible for front-line management of a diverse staff of I.T. professionals.
Work experience with the latest technologies will be necessary for the chosen candidate to communicate effectively with the many skills and abilities required of our staff and systems.
The successful candidate will have proven organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and supervisory experience in an I.T. environment.
Provides advice and assistant to I.T. Division upper management.
Performs related work as required.
Employment requires a fingerprint-based criminal-background check to be provided at the West Virginia Tax Division’s expense.
Failing to initiate the process or cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of, or dismissal from, employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered.

Qualifications
