This position is assigned to the Veterans Experience at the Atlanta VA Health Care System in Decatur, Georgia.
The incumbent of this position serves as Information Receptionist/ Red Coat Ambassador in support of the overall mission of the Atlanta VA Health Care System.
He/she receives & directs callers & visitors, assists with location of clinical appointments, provides assistance filling out travel vouchers by hand, patient check-ins, & arrange transportation for patients unable to drive.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: General Experience: You must have one year of general experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-03 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of general experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing clerical duties such as greeting customers, answering telephone calls, taking messages, making appointments, providing directions to customers, posting information in an office environment, and ensuring adherence to safety polices in the office setting.
OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience.
To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed two (2) years of education above high school graduation.
OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond.

Major Duties:
Duty Stations will be either of the following locations: Arcadia Atlanta VA Clinic: (AVC): 250 North Arcadia Ave, Decatur, GA 30030 Fort McPherson VA Clinic:1701 Hardee Avenue, Southwest Atlanta GA 30310 Duties: Applies customer service theories and practices to the medical center healthcare environment.
Provides information about the organization, it's functions, activities and personnel when requested. Assists with transport of wheelchair bound patients from one location to another location.
Assists in tracking patient clinic location/ directions requests. Maintains updated lists of Atlanta VA Health Care System layouts and guides.
Reports promptly as possible unsafe conditions and unsafe or broken equipment, unsafe practices or occupational illness or injury, which is sustained.
Demonstrates proficiency in de-escalation techniques, managing conflict and problem solving. Takes initiative to seek and suggest improvements in how work is done.
