This job involves hands-on maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment like pumps and valves in water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, or field services for Metro Nashville's Water Services.
Workers will install, operate, and fix equipment while working in various weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments with chemicals.
It's a good fit for reliable, physically fit individuals with practical experience in industrial mechanics who enjoy outdoor and indoor technical work.
This position is located in the Operations Division of Metro Water Services in a Water Treatment Plant, a Wastewater Treatment Plant, or in Field Services and performs skilled work involved in the installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Work requires some physical exertion such as walking, climbing, bending, stooping, stretching, or similar activities. Employees will be required to work indoors and outside in all weather conditions in potentially hazardous conditions, and may be exposed to chemicals and other contaminants.
Repairing and servicing equipment in an industrial environment.Conducting and participating in preventative maintenance inspections.Coordinating the maintenance and repair activities with appropriate personnel.Inspecting new installations to ensure compliance with department specifications.
Qualifications High School Diploma and two (2) years' experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment (such as large industrial pumps, treatment plants and conveyance systems, etc.).No Substitution.LICENSES REQUIRED:Valid Driver LicenseCandidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply Note: Per Metro Ordinance No.
