Full Job Description

You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the NUCLEAR FACILITIES BRANCH (CODE 308) of the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will direct or perform installation, adjustment, regulation, replacement, and operation of facilities and Radioactive Liquid Waste systems safety devices, meters, gages, and alarms.
  • You will direct systems valve line-ups to prescribed operational parameter requirements and control work functions within the facilities.
  • You will estimate and report on expected time of completion of work and maintain records of work accomplishments.
  • You will distribute and balance workload among employees to accomplish timely completion of work.
  • You will generate and process special reports, quality control documentation, training plans, and work related forms.
  • You will provide written work instructions, reference materials, and supplies to employees.
