Job Description
Summary
This job involves working with local governments and partners across several Michigan counties to guide and improve the legal representation provided to people who can't afford a lawyer when facing criminal charges.
The role focuses on offering technical support and direction to strengthen indigent defense systems.

Key Requirements
- Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Membership in good standing with the Michigan State Bar
- For level 13: No specific experience required
- For level 14: One year of professional legal experience equivalent to Indigent Defense Coordinator 13 or as a defense attorney
- For level P15: Two years of professional legal experience, including one year equivalent to Indigent Defense Coordinator 14, or two years as a defense attorney
- Ability to provide guidance and technical assistance to local indigent defense systems
- Submission of a resume and cover letter addressing experiences and career goals in relation to the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission (MIDC) mission
