Summary
This job involves acting as a judge in administrative hearings for government regulations, mainly handling cases from the Department of Health and Human Services, where you'll listen to evidence, interpret laws, and make fair decisions.

Key Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar
- For level 13: No specific experience required
- For level 14: One year of professional legal experience equivalent to Administrative Law Examiner 13, Administrative Law Specialist 13, or as an attorney
- For level P15: Two years of professional legal experience, including one year equivalent to Administrative Law Examiner 14 or Administrative Law Specialist 14, or two years as an attorney
- Ability to preside over complex and non-complex administrative hearings
- Submission of resume, cover letter, official J.D. transcripts, and a recent professional business writing sample
Full Job Description
Employees in this position function as an administrative law examiner with responsibility for presiding over complex and non-complex administrative hearings relating to the regulatory authority, rules and procedures of the assigned department or agency. Rendered decisions are based on findings of fact and/or legal interpretations and conclusions. Primary, although not exclusive, case type is Department of Health and Human services (DHHS) cases.
